Having only begun as a business 2 years ago, we here at Gorely New Media were highly honoured to not only attend, but also to win the award for New Company (Large) at the 2014 Essex Countywide Business Awards, in May. Organised by the Newsquest Essex business awards team, the names of 22 winners were announced at a champagne reception by host Michael Harper, managing director of Newsquest and the parent company of Echo News.

The awards were open to any business that had been trading between 1 and 3 years, and being a young company, we were keen to be recognised for our progress in supplying healthcare professionals with free access to up-do-date, high quality, peer-reviewed material.

As a company, we understand that the use of printed medical journals is rapidly diminishing, and a call for high quality, low cost materials is imminent. Therefore, our journals feature extensive reviews of the latest congresses in a range of therapeutic areas, and are available as free online subscriptions for our readers. We are equally focussed on promoting interactive and educational values; our latest website not only allows our readers to navigate to other surrounding social platforms, but also serves as a communicative tool for healthcare professionals.

We are currently on a fast track to increasing our subscription database and launching a number of new divisions, with the aspiration to continue expanding our business exponentially. It can only be due to our consistently high standards, aspirations to achieve, and significant media presence, that we were able to succeed in winning at the Countywide Business Awards.

Mrs Ann Quinn, business events organiser aptly commented: “To win the countywide award is a tremendous boost for any business, and a source of pride to everyone who works for the company for many years to come.

As one of this year’s winning companies, we’d have to agree.
